The most important, and on the foremost of everybody’s mind when it comes to credit cards, is identity fraud. Every day a slew of card holders are taken for a ride by a cyber or electronic sort of criminal. These criminals attack from all angles. They may strike in person at a restaurant, where they wait for that brief moment in which your credit card disappears and then reappears with the receipt to sign. And so it’s this interest and concern about security that most mobile card processing technology firms are focusing on. Yes, they’re focusing on form factor as well, and usability, but on the foremost of the minds of the folks that lead these firms is in fact security. Like the sports leagues and social situations: credibility about a system and environment is paramount, and the folks in charge of the credit card networks know this; that’s why they pay so much attention to it.
